Year supply of laundry soap

Year supply of laundry soapIf you make your own laundry soap, putting together a year supply not only costs very little, but also uses very little space.

Even if you do not make your own laundry soap right now, I recommend you keep the following on hand in case you ever need to. In an emergency, especially a long-term one, you WILL WANT clean clothes!

For our family of 7, our homemade laundry soap recipe lasts us a little over 2 ½ months.

So for one year we need:

  • 5 bars of Fels Naptha soap (currently .97 cents each)
  • 1 box of Borax (currently $3.38)
  • 2 boxes of washing soda (currently $3.24 each)

Total cost for a year supply = $14.71 plus tax

I keep our supply on a shelf in our laundry room.

If you do not make your own laundry soap, put the boxes and bars of soap into a bucket and you are set. Make sure you also store a cheese grater, measuring cups, and the recipe!
